Nothing invited BUCK to develop a new reactive wallpaper for their operating system, NOS 5.0. The team explored many different approaches, from abstract textures and patterns to vectors that captured the innovation and technology Nothing brings to its ecosystem.

The final version features a soft gradient that reacts as the user goes about their day, with app usage and battery level also influencing colors, shapes, and movement, resulting in an abstract digital art piece within reach of the user's fingertips.

Hardware x Software

In the exploratory phase I’ve explored the phone hardware translating it’s shapes and curves into vectors that would react to the touch and ambient temperature, changing colors and definition. This route was eventually archived, but I liked the play so much that I think it deserves a spot in the case.
